Since I started growing cannabis for the Amsterdam coffeeshop scene in the early 1990s, it has been my passion to breed the very best genetics. After early experiments in growing and breeding cannabis...
1990: Our journey begins
Around this time Amsterdam’s coffeeshops mostly sold imported hash from India, Afghanistan or Morocco and poor quality weed from Thailand, Colombia, and Mexico.
But things are changing! Luc is introduced to new crossbreeds from the USA and, as Amsterdam is a hotspot for trading land race genetics from around the world, he builds a seed library and expands his breeding operation.
His passion for growing better weed produces spectacular results and soon he is supplying his favorite Amsterdam coffeeshops and establishing a reputation as one of the best cannabis breeders in Holland.
From company birth to international recognition.
1999: Paradise hits the world stage
In 1994, Paradise Seeds is registered as a cannabis seed company in Amsterdam with three strains including a potent indica, Sensi Star, and a potent sativa, Dutch Dragon.
And in 1999 – Sensi Star wins the High Times and Highlife cannabis cups and catapults Paradise Seeds onto the cannabis scene, winning new fans around the world.
We were just getting started...
2005: Stable feminized seeds
After researching and experimenting with different methods used in feminizing cucumbers, we are one of the first seed companies to develop and stabilize feminized photoperiod strains.
In 2005 The first Paradise hybrid variety, Wappa, is released and the decade sees the release of several legacy strains including Ice Cream, Belladonna and Jacky White.
New Research progresses!
2010: Autoflowers are go!
Paradise Seeds is one of the first cannabis seeds companies to launch the first Autoflowering strains!
Pandora and Vertigo are released in 2010, announcing the arrival of a new generation of stable autoflowers with enhanced terpenes and bigger yields.
It's time to establish a Paradise base in Amsterdam.
2011 - Our very own store!
Our flagship store opens in the center of Amsterdam at the Gravenstraat 12, which becomes an invaluable way to help our expanding range of customers.
The new decade sees the release of two plants Atomical Haze (sativa) and Allkush (indica) which would become big cup winners.
The cannabis community starts a citizen science revolution.
2013: The first Medical Cannabis Bike tour is a fact!
In 2013 – the very first Medical Cannabis Bike Tour is organized by Paradise owner, Luc. It becomes an annual event and over several tours more than €400.000 is raised by the charity for research into using cannabinoids (THC/CBD) in the treatment of cancer.
Canadian LPs use Paradise Seeds genetics for medical cannabis cultivation projects.

2015: Growing for medical patients
In 2015 – South America’s biggest legal medical grow in Chile uses Paradise genetics. The Chilean experience forms the basis of the Green Medicine documentary.
Medical cannabis strains, Durga Mata ll and Nebula ll, featuring a 1:1 ratio of THC/CBD, are released.
Paradise Seeds meets the Godfather of Stoner Comedy.
2018: Tommy Chong's Collaboration
In 2018 Space Cookies and Californian Gold releases builds on the success of Paradise & Tommy Chong’s exclusive line of high performance Californian strains: Blue Kush Berry, Mendocino Skunk, La Amnesia and Auto Kong #4.
CBD becomes the latest cannabinoid in demand.
2021: We launch our own CBD oils
As the Covid lockdown ends in 2021, Paradise releases its own brand of organic CBD oil
Additionally, with the increased demand for supplying legally licensed facilities, Paradise Phytogenetics is born, providing genetics for Licensed Producers worldwide
Transatlantic collab between USA and European weed innovators.
2023: Compound Genetics
We partner up with USA’s Compound Genetics. Their strains are made available exclusively in Europe through Paradise, including Jet Fuel Gelato and Jokerz crosses.
Paradise’s own Sunset Paradise and Chocolate Wafflez releases receive multiple industry awards.

2024: We officially turn 30 Years!

How we work
Our cannabis seeds are organically produced and contain all the necessary trace elements for a good start. We work with strict criteria regarding the pollination of our plants in our clinically secure pollination rooms. We carefully schedule all pollinations to prevent seeds of inferior quality entering the final batches of cannabis seeds. After the production of seeds, we still hand-select only the best seeds to be packlaged for sale to customers. We then test these seeds on viability and germination for every new batch. This way we can guarantee you will always get fresh seeds that are sure to grow top-quality plants.
We guarantee a 95% germination rate, if the growing conditions are right.
All our cannabis seeds have been developed for cultivating in an indoor or outdoor grow setup.
